Innovation and driving fun at the training program for MG salespeople in Austria
Last week at Formation4you was all about hybrid and plug-in hybrid technology. Morris Garagen (MG), previously known in Austria primarily for its electric mobility, is now expanding its portfolio in the heart of Europe to include hybrid models. The new models were presented at an exclusive event in the magnificent Mondsee Castle and 60 salespeople were made fit for sales.
Hybrid training – fit for the product expansion in Austria
Until now, MG has focussed more on purely electric vehicles in Austria. However, the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models open up new possibilities. In order to provide sales staff with the necessary expertise, the training sessions focused on the sales arguments and advantages of this technology. The focus was on convincing potential customers of the efficiency and flexibility of the new MG hybrid models. The training ensures that the sales network is the ideal point of contact for the new MG models.
Three new MG models and their competition
During the training, three new hybrid and plug-in hybrid models from MG were presented, which are impressive in both design and technology. Nine MG vehicles and six vehicles from competitors were available for a comprehensive comparison and practical test. This variety enabled the participants to not only familiarise themselves with the new MG models in detail but also to compare them directly with the competitor models.
Theory meets practice
The training sessions were comprised of four workshops in total: two static and two dynamic. The static ones focussed on the technical features, design, and sales arguments of the new models. The differences to the competitors were worked out in detail.
The dynamic workshops brought the theory onto the road. The participants got to extensively test drive the new MG hybrid models on a 3-lake tour around the Mondsee, Wolfgangsee, and Fuschlsee lakes and compare their driving behaviour to that of the competition. These comparison drives enabled the salespeople to experience the everyday suitability and drivability of the models firsthand and gather important impressions for sales.
Mondsee Castle – an exclusive venue with historical flair
The choice of venue fell on the majestic Mondsee Castle, which, with its picturesque location and history, provided the perfect setting for the training sessions. The castle, nestled into the idyllic landscape of Upper Austria, was not only an architectural jewel but also offered the participants an exclusive setting and gave the event a special atmosphere.
The sports car history of MG
MG can look back on a long and proud history as a manufacturer of sports cars. Since its foundation in 1924, the brand has secured a firm place in the hearts of sports car enthusiasts. This tradition still lives on today in their modern models, and MG enjoys a special status in Austria in particular. These values were emphasised by the presence of the Managing Director, Alexander Struckl, who welcomed the new participants every day and was present at the end of the day when the prizes were awarded.
Daily quizzes and exclusive prizes
Each training day ended with a quiz in which the participants could put their acquired knowledge to the test. The best salespeople were rewarded with exclusive gifts from the MG boutique, that provided additional incentive and lots of fun.
